If I tag you, it's because I want to know more about you. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.1. Hanya mula bercinta pada umur 18 tahun. (lam-mim-ba-ba kan bab-bab ini ;p)

WHAT steps are City Hall taking to ensure total public involvement in the KL City Plan 2020?
JOANNA, Titiwangsa.
Datuk Seri Ahmad Fuad, DBKL's Mayor: This is an excellent question. City residents will be pleased with the avenues made available for them to be directly and fully involved in the future of their city. The ultimate aim is to strike a balance between physical, social, economic and environmental development.
The draft KL City Plan (KLCP) 2020 is a detailed plan which translates the vision, goals, development strategies and policies of the KL Structure Plan 2020. The KL Structure Plan 2020 which was gazetted on Nov 4, 2004, determines the land use and development intensity of the city. This is outlined in the form of "site specific" for more than 186,000 lots within the city limits to guide landowners, developers and investors in identifying current and future development potentials in the KLCP 2020.
According to the Federal Territories Planning Act 1982 (Act 267), the involvement of the public will only be required after the local draft plan has been completed.
However, good governance is the main guiding principle practised at City Hall. Based on this principle and on good planning practices, City Hall has initiated an integrated public involvement action plan at every stage.
The purpose of implementing the public involvement programme at every stage is to encourage two-way interaction between the public and City Hall and give the public the opportunity to take part in the preparation of the local draft plan. City Hall has initiated public involvement from the beginning of the preparation of the KLCP 2020 to secure a comprehensive plan.
Public involvement can be divided into two parts -- during the preparation of the draft plan, and during the revision and acceptance of the plan. Workshops are also held to inform the public and stakeholders of the amendments to the draft KLCP 2020. City Hall has conducted a series of five workshops with the following themes: "Workshop with residents' associations", "Workshop to realise a people-friendly public transportation", "Quality of life in the city and green workshop", "Procedure to secure approval for planning application workshop" and "Sustainable environmental workshop".
Two more workshops are due to be held: "Zoning and classes of land use with community facilities workshop" and the "Integrated development control plan workshop".
Open days will be held at the lobby of Menara DBKL 1, City Hall, in Jalan Raja Laut, on Nov 29, Nov 30 and Dec 1 from 8.30am to 5pm to inform residents and stakeholders about amendments to the draft KLCP 2020. These revisions were the result of the views and suggestions that City Hall received via workshops and the public hearing committee, and according to government policies.
